What Does this blood Test Result Mean?

Blood test results are varying a lot.

February- Total Chol 213 LDL 164 Trig 128 Fasted 10 hours

April - Total Chol 187 LDL 126 Trig 115 Fasted 12 hours

May - Total Chol 252 LDL 164 Trig 100 Fasted 12 hours

Unfortunately the May test was for insurance purposes and they

are stalling on making a decision. Purposily added oat bran to diet

after February test. Were pleased with results. Surprised at the

bad numbers in May. The April test was done at a lab facility, others

drawn remotely. Can the numbers be changing this much or is it

poor testing quality? I donâ??t guess the insurance company would

believe a report sent in from the April lab results. Any suggestions??

Dear sir, greetings from HCM . yes the lipid profile results do vary based on the diet , exercise and the stress levels. Might be due to the quality of the testing lab too. You better get the investigation s in a standard lab after 10 hours of fasting minimum.
With the usual diet you are on for a week. Even then the lipid s vary especially the triglycerides.
Need not worry as the insurance companies do take all these factors in to consideration. More over the reports must be signed and verified by a specialist may be a biochemist .
